Please reach us at greencountryvet@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We require canine distemper, infectious hepatitis, canine parvovirus, canine influenza, rabies, and bordetella.
YES! The facility should be able to give you peace of mind that NO dog is allowed to board without showing documentaries of up to date vaccines.
Hopefully the facility is honest about this one - the answer should be NO.
Should be yes! You are always welcome to tour GCVH! We recommend to do a "drop-in" look around.
Every day and as needed throughout the day. Especially after each boarder leaves.
At GCVH we have spacious and modern kennels. You should have options for the size of your pet. Large indoor runs work well for a German Shepherd but a 3lb Yorkie will be scared to death in a large area. Ask if they have quiet areas for the shy kids. Check out our Tiny Town on our website!
Your dog should not be able to escape and no way for unauthorized people to enter.
Ideally a minimum of 3 times per day. We do walks 4-5 times or as many as your pet requires.
Your dog should have a large area in which he can run around. We also have an indoor area to hang out in.
Not all dogs play well with others all the time. When in a communal area, it is important to have a high number of staff to pet ratio to safety watch over everyone (our staff ratio is 1 person per 3 dogs when outside). We do not let all dogs co-mingle, only those who play well with others an only at owners request.
Yes! It should be changed twice a day minimum or as many times as needed.
Your dog should have some space, and be able to relax without seeing other dogs. His kennel should be private enough to relax.
The kennel should have a plan to deal with stress. Here at GCVH, we will move them to a quiet area with us and/or ask permission to give anti-anxiety medication. We also pay soothing music and give pets curtains for their run or boarding bed area. Sometimes they just need more cuddles!
Yes they can! Here at GCVH, we feed a digestive support food or you can bring your own food.
At GCVH we will work very hard to keep your fur-kid eating. We have a full kitchen in our kennel to be able to make special meals for those that refuse to eat. In addition, we have Pizza Fridays, Cinnamon Roll Saturdays, and Pancake Sunday!
Here at GCVH, its rise and shine at 7am! Each fur-kid is let out in our extra large backyard for their morning run & stretch, then its back in for breakfast. After that its back outside for another walk about & cookies! Then an afternoon nap/quiet time, then its play time and another walk in the backyard! After that, its back in for dinner, outside for a nighttime romp, then back in to settle in for the night. Soft music and aromatherapy to help the kids relax.
This is very important! Here at GCVH, we have a minimum of 1 staff per 8 dogs for regular housekeeping duties. While outside, play is 1 staff to 1 dog.
Yes, of course!
Our boarding facility is booked up to 3 weeks in advance especially at holidays. But cancellations do occur so call as soon as you know your travel dates. We can always make arrangements to extend your pets time with us. Life happens and we completely understand!
